Join The Jazz Project on the last Sunday of each month from 4:00-6:30, January through May and September through November for an afternoon of jazz, food, and friends, when the region’s finest jazz musicians converge on Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth, 1059 N. State Street, Bellingham, WA, The Majestic Hall, Church House, and WWU Concert Hall. Concerts are at 4:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased online at this website by going to the Jazz Project Store and adding the Art of Jazz Tickets. Members are admitted free, while general admission is $17 for non-members.
Also, don’t miss the new Second Sunday Summer Concert Series at Samson Estates Winery 1861 Van Dyk Road, Everson at 4pm. Shows include Jennifer Scott Quartet with Scott on piano and vocals, Rene Worst bass, Jud Sherwood drums, and Josh Cook saxophone on June 9; Bellingham Youth Jazz Band, July 14; and Christopher Woitach Steel Trio with Woitach pedal steel and guitar, Jeff Johnson bass, and Jud Sherwood drums, August 11. The Bellhaven Jazz Festival moves to Samson Estates on September 7, from noon to 7 with four bands: Ed Dunsavage/Dmitri Matheny quartet, Mark Lewis quartet, Blues Union, and Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto.
